Dr. Antonio De Lacy is considered one of the pioneers of Gastrointestinal Surgery, becoming the first surgeon to use the NOTES technique in Spain and the SILS technique in Obesity Surgery in Europe.  

Among his milestones is the extraction of a gastric tumor through the vagina by NOTES Surgery, which was the second time in the world. In addition, he marked a before and after after the high definition 3D laparoscopic intervention with which he removed a gall bladder, using the navel as a natural orifice.  

De Lacy is also the creator of the TaTME technique, considered a world reference for the treatment of colorectal cancer. Additionally, in the incorporation of new technologies to his work, in 2019 he performed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona the first remote tele-assisted operation thanks to 5G technology.
