Este programa académico ofrece al alumno conocimientos profundos en ciertas patologías, como por ejemplo, síndrome metabólico, obesidad o estados especiales como puede ser el embarazo, u otros casos frecuentes en el día a día de un Monitor de Sala y cuyos conocimientos son ignorados por la mayoría ya que no se dictan en la mayoría de las carreras de base.
Entre ellos, se trata la obesidad, la cual se ha convertido en una de las enfermedades más frecuentes del mundo, aunque la más infravalorada de todas, percibiéndose por la población como un simple problema estético. El sedentarismo y la alimentación excesiva e inadecuada son dos de los elementos con mayor repercusión sobre el desarrollo de esta enfermedad. Sin embargo, la creencia simplista de que un aumento en la actividad física y un descenso en la ingesta es suficiente para su tratamiento se ha visto como un tratamiento ineficaz, dado que el sistema en este estado patológico no responde de la misma manera. Por ello, en esta Postgraduate diploma se hará especial hincapié en la planificación y programación del entrenamiento ajustado a la disfuncionalidad de estos individuos para poder generar cambios perceptibles en la salud de los mismos.
De la misma forma, también se abordará el proceso de entrenamiento en diferentes etapas etarias como son la infantojuvenil y el adulto mayor. Sobre ellas, se desglosarán las características principales de cada una de estas etapas con base en sus cambios morfo funcionales, la incidencia de las neurociencias y la nutrición con el objetivo de programar sesiones de entrenamiento respetando la individualidad de la carga de trabajo físico.
Finalmente, durante la Postgraduate diploma se abordarán los contenidos asociados al estado de embarazo. A lo largo de las clases se estudiarán las diferentes adaptaciones morfofisiológicas que se van observando y se hará énfasis sobre su repercusión en los planes de ejercicio físico. Por último, se estudiará la prescripción del programa de ejercicio físico dividiéndolo en los tres trimestres característicos y una propuesta no menos importante para el posparto.
