Dr. Marina Mesquida Febrer is an Ophthalmologist with sub-specialization in Medical Retina and Uveitis. As a Clinical Scientist, she has experience in the design and execution of trials for the treatment of diseases related to this area and Hereditary Retinal Degenerations. She has led clinical and translational research programs in gene therapy strategies or Phase I and II studies. 

Doctor of Medicine from the University of Lleida and Barcelona, Mesquida Febrer has performed these tasks in leading companies with international scope as Roche, serving as Chief Medical Director and leading the Area of Translational Medicine in Ophthalmology. Likewise, this health professional has also developed her Specialty in health centers such as the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, although another of her most recognizable positions is that of Clinical Field Expert in Rare Eye Diseases for the European Commission, advising in turn in the Horizon 2020 programs of this organization. 

Thus, Mesquida Febrer is a reference in Ophthalmology, publishing more than 60 manuscripts in Basic Science and Clinical Research as a Researcher. In addition, her areas of interest are Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, Organ-on-Chip Technologies, Inflammatory Retinal Diseases and Gene Therapy.
