Experience

Dr. Olaia Martínez Iglesias has focused her professional career on the search for Epigenetic Biomarkers for the diagnosis of prevalent conditions such as Cardiovascular Diseases, Neurodegenerative Diseases and different types of tumors. In particular, she has patented an in vitro method for the detection of Progressive Colon Cancer. These merits have led her to relevant positions such as her current position as Director of the Medical Epigenetics Laboratory at EuroEspes.  

In the academic field, she has an acclaimed career, having been awarded one of the prizes for best young researcher of the European Society of Endocrinology. She has also been a member of the team of experts at the Alberto Sols Institute for Biomedical Research in Madrid, where she has conducted research on the mechanisms of regulation of metastasis in cancer, also obtaining her PhD in Biomedicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid.
