Experience

María Emilia Carretero Accame, PhD in Pharmacy, has an extensive academic and professional career, from which stands out not only her thesis, but also her work as a researcher and more than 20 years of uninterrupted activity dedicated to the area of Phytotherapy, applied to fields such as Medicine. She has focused her career mainly on research, participating in various projects as collaborator and director of many of them with international character.

Her main lines of study have been, so far, the Identity and Quality Control of medicinal plants and drugs; Phytochemical Processes of Extraction, Isolation and Elucidation of Active Ingredients of Plant Origin and general and specific pharmacological assays of Neuroprotection and Adaptogens. This has also served her to create a solid base for teaching and divulgation, two of the most important pillars of her career.
