Dr. Juan Carlos Castillo Farfán is an obstetrician and gynecologist at the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia and the Instituto Bernabeu de Alicante, with special interest and knowledge in childbirth assistance, family planning, contraception and emergencies. He is considered by the scientific community as one of the leading researchers on ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, as he is part of a group of international experts focused on researching and implementing protocols to avoid hyperstimulation that in some cases can originate as a result of assisted reproduction treatment.  

He is an associate editor of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and a member of the editorial board of Human Reproduction, the most prestigious journal in the field of Reproductive Medicine. In addition, he has numerous collaborations in collective works and as author of individual publications in prestigious national and international journals on Assisted Human Reproduction and Ultrasound, such as the Revista Sociedad Española de Ginecología y Obstetricia. 

He is also the author of several chapters in books on Reproductive Medicine and has been a speaker at national and international congresses as a Specialist in the Prevention of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome and Final Oocyte Maturation with GnRH Agonist.
