Experience

With a special interest in the care and awareness of patient care, Dr. Gabriel Heras La Calle, has dedicated a large part of his professional career to the HU-CI Project, of which he is the director and creator. This international initiative, which has the support of more than 100,000 active professionals, is focused on the Humanization of Intensive Care through multicenter collaborative research, the training of professionals in non-technical skills and the certification of ICUs in good practices of Humanization.

This experience has allowed him to be the director of the Humanization Committee of the FEPIMCTI, also directing the Clinical Management Unit of Intensive Care Medicine of the Southern Area of Granada. He has been part of the clinical team of seven different hospitals, in addition to belonging to the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation in Bolivia and providing assistance as an independent physician in Ghana.

He has published many articles, mainly focused on the humanization of health services. He is also the author of the book "En primera linea", where he recounts his own healthcare experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
