Experience

Dr. Eduardo López-Collazo has an extensive scientific career. Although his initial vocation inclined him towards Nuclear Physics, he also became interested in Biomedicine, graduating in both areas. After graduating from university, he began his research activity with his Doctoral Thesis in Pharmacy, in which he obtained the Cum Laude distinction and the Excellence Award, carrying out several stays in important research centers in Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom.  

All this has led him to hold prestigious positions in centers of worldwide relevance such as the Health Research Institute of the University Hospital La Paz, in whose scientific area he has performed management-related tasks for years. In addition, he has an extensive list of indexed publications focused mainly on the study of HIV, Cancer and COVID-19. In addition, he has combined empirical observation in the medical area with teaching, directing theses and acting as a professor of programs, subjects of various degrees related to the area of Biomedicine and masters.

  • Director of the Immune Response and Infectious Diseases area at IdiPAZ. 
  • Director of the Immune Response and Tumor Immunology Group at IdiPAZ. 
  • Member of the External Scientific Committee of the Instituto Murciano de Investigación Sanitaria.  
  • Trustee of the Foundation for Biomedical Research of the Hospital La Paz. 
  • Member of the Scientific Committee of FIDE  
  • Editor of the international scientific journal Mediators of Inflammation
  • Editor of the international scientific journal Frontiers of Immunology
  • Coordinator of IdiPAZ Platforms 
  • Coordinator of the Health Research Funds in the areas of Cancer, Infectious Diseases and HIV. 
  • Dr. in Nuclear Physics from the University of Havana. 
  • Dr. in Pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid.
