Rafael Jiménez Merchán is a specialist in Thoracic Surgery with high skills in the management of different types of tumors and various pathologies produced in the thorax. Thanks to his high level of knowledge in this field, he has become Chief and Director of the Thoracic Surgery Service of the University Hospital Virgen Macarena.  

In parallel to his healthcare practice, he has also devoted part of his time to scientific production. In this sense, he is the author and co-author of dozens of articles for specialized journals on Thoracic Surgery, in which he addresses issues such as the surgical intervention of pulmonary metastases or the treatment of mediastinal solitary fibrous tumor.
