Dr. José Francisco Ruiz Fons is an eminent figure in the field of veterinary medicine. As a researcher, he has worked at the Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas or in renowned veterinary institutions in the United Kingdom such as the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute or the James Hutton Institute. 

This PhD in Biology and Technology of Hunting Resources from the University of Castilla-La Mancha has a line of research that combines Ecology and Ethology with Veterinary Sciences, having published more than 100 articles in prestigious journals.  

In addition to a long career as a lecturer in Animal Health, Epidemiology and Disease Prevention and Control, he is a member of associations such as the Wildlife Disease Association and the Spanish Society for the Conservation and Study of Mammals.
