Dr. Tomasa Centella Hernández is a Specialist in Cardiovascular Surgery who, fascinated by the treatment of Congenital Heart Disease, has developed a large part of her professional career focused on pediatric patients. However, she has an immense experience in adult surgery. After decades of work, he has an excellent track record in centers such as Ramón y Cajal University Hospital, La Princesa or Vithas Xanit International.  

Her high medical competences and leadership skills have enabled her to accede to relevant positions in different entities, including her position as Vice-president of the Delegated Commission of Surgical and Medical-Surgical Specialties of the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare. Likewise, she has presided over the Spanish Society of Thoracic-Cardiovascular Surgery.  

With her tireless ambition to take on new challenges, she has been able to treat congenital heart disease in developing countries, coordinating the international cooperation project for the surgery of these pathologies in Ethiopia and Kenya.
