Dr. Javier García-Samaniego is an eminent figure in the field of Hepatology, a discipline in which he is Head of the Hepatology Section at the La Paz University Hospital. He has dedicated his professional career to research into viral hepatitis, coordinating projects such as the Alliance for the Elimination of Viral Hepatitis in Spain (AEHVE). 

Therefore, he has been the main researcher in more than 60 international clinical trials on the treatment of this pathology. In addition, his high specialization in this field has allowed him to participate in the development of guidelines and therapeutic protocols to treat, among others, viral hepatitis in HIV-positive patients or to achieve the elimination of hepatitis C. 

A reference in this medical field that combines his medical and research practice with the dissemination, participating as a lecturer at numerous conferences and forums both nationally and internationally.
