Dr. José Ramón Gómez Echevarría is a Medical Specialist in Chronic Infectious Diseases such as Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer. He has been working for more than 35 years as a Physician, cooperating in programs with Fontilles and Doctors of the World, which have led him to visit a large number of countries, such as Brazil, Equatorial Guinea, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Paraguay, Angola, Ecuador, Argentina, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Benin. 

His extensive and outstanding career has allowed him to be Medical Director of Leprosy at the Fontilles Sanatorium in Alicante, where he collaborates in the research work developed. In addition, he has made publications on Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer, as the Updated Manual of Leprology: Child Dermatology in Rural Areas of the Tropics.
