Experience

Dr. Cristina Domínguez González is one of the best Neurology Specialists in Spain. Her great work in the study of thymidine kinase 2-TK2 deficiency, a very rare disease caused by mutations of this gene and of which the incidence is unknown, made her worthy of the Alberto Rábano 2020 Award. This recognition is awarded to the most outstanding doctoral thesis of those presented, which must have been qualified with Apto Cum Laude and read at a Spanish university during the calendar year prior to each call.  

She is a professional who combines research in the Rare, Mitochondrial and Neuromuscular Diseases group of the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria (i+12) with clinical practice at the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre. In addition, she is the author of several scientific articles and has collaborated with various entities for the realization of lectures and talks at universities around the country.

  • PhD in Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid.
