Dr. Begoña Iza Vallejo's medical career has been marked by her great interest in Neurosurgery, an area in which she has been constantly updating her knowledge, especially in Cancer with neurological involvement, radiotherapeutic management of brain tumors and their diagnosis.  

In line with this professional career in one of the leading hospitals in Spain in this specialty, Iza Vallejo promoted her research career which began with her doctoral thesis Prognostic utility of optical coherence tomography in surgery of lesions with chiasmatic compression. Since then, he has been involved in nearly a decade of studies, in which he has participated in scientific articles published in national and international journals, and he is also a regular participant in Neurosurgery congresses.  

  • Assistant Physician of the Neurosurgery Department at the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón.
  • Resident tutor in the Neurosurgery Service at the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón.
  • Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine, University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU). 
  • Master's Degree in Neurological Oncology from the CEU Cardenal Herrera University.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in the Diagnostic Management of Brain Tumors.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Neurosurgery and Radiotherapeutic Management of Brain Tumors.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Management of Brain Metastases, Comorbidities and Complications in Cancer with Neurological Affection, CEU Cardenal Herrera University.
