Dr. Xabier Mielgo Rubio is a Specialist in Medical Oncology. As a Physician, he has carried out his healthcare activity in health centers such as the University Hospital Fundación Alcorcón, being a reference in Lung Cancer, Thoracic Tumors, ENT, Orphan and Infrequent. 

With extensive experience as a teacher of Oncology, Xabier Mielgo Rubio has combined his work with an outstanding research career, publishing numerous articles in high impact scientific journals. Some of them have been about combinations of Immunotherapy and Chemotherapy, Lung Cancer in patients with COVID-19 in Spain or the management of Stage III-N2 Resectable Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) in the era of Immunotherapy. 

In addition, he is a member of the board of directors of the Spanish Group of Orphan and Infrequent Tumors and the Spanish Group of Immuno-Biological Therapies in Cancer.
