- Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the UAB in 2001.
- In 1992 he was hired as an adjunct doctor of the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Unit of the Hematology Service, at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, in Barcelona. He has been a member of the Hematology staff, uninterruptedly to date. He is currently the head of the Section for Diagnostic and Translational Research of Haemostasis Diseases.
- He develops his care work in the Consultation for antithrombotic treatment and thromboembolic and hemorrhagic diseases. He is an elected member in 2017 of the Board of Directors of the Cos Facultatiu del Hospital.
- Author of 160 scientific articles in indexed journals, 35 as the first signatory.
- Author of 290 scientific communications to national and International Congresses.
- Member of the Research Team in 21 competitive Research Projects, in 7 of them, as Principal Investigator.
- Responsible for the scientific projects GAIT 1 and 2 (Genetic Analysis of Idiophatic Thrombophilia) developed from 1995 to the present; ACOA (Alternative Control of Oral Anticoagulation) between 2000 and 2005; RETROVE (Venous TROmboembolic Disease Risk) started in 2012; MIRTO (Modeling the Individual Risk of Thrombosis in Oncology), since 2015.
