Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Sports Journalism

The constant use of information and communication technologies is urging the professional migration from physical to digital spaces. Professions imminently linked to the use of such technologies, such as journalism, have been permeated by the renewal of knowledge and practices of their disciplines, and therefore, professionals have had to adapt and choose to specialize their skills. This Postgraduate Diploma program in Digital Sports Journalism, designed by the teaching team of TECH Global University, allows the journalist to enter fully into the informative-interpretative matter of sport, covering from its definition and evolution, to its most recent visualization and participation tools, such as broadcasts and social networks. Based on this theoretical-practical path, the student will be able to build or enrich the narrative models, closer to the magazine, focusing especially on digital and television audiovisual language. Likewise, the student will have key tools for journalistic research applied to sport, deepening the relationship with the different sources: clubs, institutions, athletes, managers and agents of athletes and the transfer market.

In order to accompany professionals in their academic and practical updating processes, TECH has decided to create postgraduate programs aimed at meeting the needs required in the working world. The curriculum of this program, designed by the teaching group of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, guarantees the acquisition of a specialized vision of sports storytelling on websites, as well as the use of its possibilities. Through the management of digital identities, whether in blogs or social networks, the professional in this area will be able to include live digital broadcasts, and test them with the use of audience measurement systems. In addition, they will be able to design ethical and effective advertising strategies to solve reception declines. To strengthen this last competence, the curriculum includes statistical contents that expose, in a clear and concise manner, the sources of information of relevant data in this area. Likewise, it proposes fruitful ways of use for the immediate interpretation of the games, thus ensuring, the creation of quality journalistic contents.
