The inescapable interest in Botany has led Dr. Jaime Güemes Heras to achieve professional excellence in this field. He is an expert who has devoted more than 20 years to the exhaustive study of plants and their related organisms, naming some thirty new species included in the prestigious International Plant Names Index.  

He is an expert with a passion for research, whose scientific results can be found in dozens of books such as Trabajos de palinología básica y aplicada and Un bosque en la ciudad. Thanks to all this, to his academic curriculum and to his incessant informative work, he has become the president of international organizations such as the Ibero-Macaronesian Association of Botanical Gardens and the director of the Botanical Garden of Valencia, one of the most important centers of living nature in the world.
