Experience

Doctor of Medicine with over 25 years of experience in Plastic Surgery, Emilio Garcia Tutor has held relevant positions and promoted important projects throughout his career as a Medical Assistant. He was the creator and Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University Hospital of Guadalajara, where he worked for several years.

He then continued to develop his work as a health care provider, as a teacher and researcher for 10 years at the University Clinic of Navarra, first as an Associate Collaborator, then as a Consultant Section Chief and finally as Deputy Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery. He has also worked for more than a decade as Head of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department at the MD Anderson Cancer Center Hospital in Madrid, where he has promoted an innovative surgical technique especially oriented to microsurgery.

Particularly, he stands out in Breast Reconstruction with Own Tissues (DIEP flap, PAP, TMG) since the first cases were published, which has given him a wide experience and specific weight in this area of Plastic Surgery, as well as in Supramicrosurgery for the Surgical Treatment of Lymphedema, Lymphovenous Bypass and Lymph Node Transplants. All this work has been reflected in numerous indexed scientific publications, participation in books and presentations both nationally and internationally.
