Experience

The study of the immune response in different pathologies associated with infections such as Sepsis, Cystic Fibrosis, AIDS or COVID-19 have focused the efforts of the researcher, José Aveñado Ortiz. 

His scientific work began with the development of methods for the quantification of neurotransmitters in brain tissue and plasma samples from murine models of depression, using HPLC coupled to mass spectrometry. This work boosted his research career leading him to the University Hospital La Paz and the Microbiology Service of the Ramón y Cajal Hospital.  

Throughout these years he has published more than thirty scientific publications, obtaining an H 11 Index, with more than 500 total citations. He is also a reviewer of immunology articles for journals such as Microorganism, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Scientific Reports, Fronteirs in Pharmacology or Molecular Medicine.
