Acquired Brain Injury represents the third leading cause of death and the first cause of disability for adults on a global scale. This high incidence has encouraged medical sciences to constantly analyze these medical conditions. At the same time, Physiotherapy strives to rehabilitate and facilitate a better quality of life for people who survive this kind of neurological accidents. Based on these needs, discipline innovates every day, seeking new methods for evaluation and diagnosis of these disorders. In addition, its experts develop equipment and tools to facilitate patients' recovery in an efficient manner. These updated contents also generate a wide range of practical competencies, which professionals often access through self-improvement and self-preparation. TECH wants to change that scenario and offers the most demanded skills in this academic field in an innovative study modality 100% presential.

This Internship Program in Physiotherapy in the Approach to Acquired Brain Injury is intended to be a compendium of the most updated evidence and scientific knowledge about nervous system and its rehabilitation when it is injured in a supervening way. Thanks to this, it is able to specialize physiotherapist who has never dealt with people with this type of disease and, nevertheless, has an interest in their professional future being related to the treatment of such patients. Likewise, professional who is already a neurological physiotherapist, whether or not dealing with Acquired Brain Injury, will find a space to update their knowledge and reach super-specialization in this group of patients.

This way, TECH offers them a unique opportunity to participate, for 3 weeks, in teamwork of a physiotherapy center of reference, with extensive experience with patients with these pathologies. Therefore, students will have at their disposal a tutor and other professionals who will teach them keys and the most updated technologies that have brought best results for patients' health. An indispensable opportunity to develop skills that will give them a boost to their careers.

Acquired Brain Injury represents the first cause of disability for adults worldwide and you will learn how to rehabilitate them through the practical physiotherapeutic skills that you will develop with this program"

Internship Program in Physiotherapy in the Approach to Acquired Brain Injury

An injury to the encephalic structures represents one of the greatest challenges for health personnel, since, its incidence not only falls on cognitive or behavioral functions, but also extends to the sensory-motor part of the patient, affecting the elementary functions of his body. Because of this, interdisciplinary branches such as neurophysiotherapy have emerged, in charge of improving motor, balance and posture functions. To carry out an adequate therapeutic intervention in this field, it is necessary that professionals handle specific skills and abilities. With this in mind, TECH Global University developed an Internship Program in Physiotherapy in the Approach to Acquired Brain Injury, focused on the therapeutic process of neurological rehabilitation. In the curriculum, you will find fundamental topics such as the structural and functional anatomical bases of the nervous system, the neurophysiological processes of motor learning and the assessment and approach of the patient with ACBD in altered states of consciousness. All this, you will learn in a prestigious clinical center, during three consecutive weeks, divided into eight-hour days from Monday to Friday.

Qualify as an expert physiotherapist in acquired brain injury (ABI)

According to a report published by the World Health Organization (WHO), stroke is the second leading cause of death in the world, with 15 million diagnosed and five million deaths each year. Due to these worrying figures, it is necessary to have professionals who help not only to avoid, but also to mitigate the consequences of this disorder, through the use of therapies such as neurorehabilitation. Through a rigorous syllabus, proposed by the best TECH specialists, we will instruct you in aspects such as neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, the epidemiology of ACD, its implications according to the age of the patient and the various symptoms or syndromes in the area of affectation. You will also learn about the physiology of the motor system, support products in the treatment of ACD, therapeutic approaches and the use of radiological tests such as CT and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). From the knowledge obtained, you will be able to plan differential approaches, based on neurological findings related to the physiology of movement and motor control. In addition, you will be able to plan risk prevention guidelines and design therapies that restore body functions.
