Experience

An expert in Pain Treatment, Dr. María Ángeles Canós Verdecho is a Specialist in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation at the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital, where she is in charge of the Pain Unit of Reference of the Valencian Community. At the same time, she combines this care activity with scientific research and university teaching. 

She has recently been awarded the Best In Class Award for the best Pain Unit in recognition of the professional and human quality of her team of physicians. She also leads a pioneering study on the approach to disc pathology with Coablative Radiofrequency applied to patients with low back pain in the lower limbs, making it a benchmark for innovation in this field. 

In this way, she has accumulated more than 30 research studies approved by the CEIC at the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital, as lead researcher, has written a book for international dissemination on the Multidisciplinary approach to Pain Treatment and is active in direct collaboration with the advisory committee of Neurosurgical implants of the General Directorate of Pharmacy and Medical Devices of the Valencian Community, as well as with the Spanish Pain Society.
