Dr. José García Arumí is an eminent figure in the field of Ophthalmology. A renowned researcher and founding partner of the Institute of Ocular Microsurgery (IMO), he has combined positions of responsibility in prestigious centers with his teaching facet in academic institutions. 

Throughout his 30 years of professional career, García Arumí has been a reference in the treatment of macular degeneration, in the approach to retinal detachment, choroidal melanoma and reinopathy, being also a pioneer in macular hole surgery and an excellent ophthalmologist in the approach to intraocular tumors.  

In his extensive and brilliant career, this specialist has developed in Spain the techniques of brachytherapy with ruthenium plates and transpupillary thermotherapy for the treatment of melanomas and choroidal hemangiomas. In addition, he introduced in Europe new surgical techniques to treat retinal vascular pathology.
