El análisis de datos es un proceso que consiste en examinar, limpiar y transformar datos con el objetivo de resaltar información útil, para sugerir conclusiones y apoyo en la toma de decisiones. El análisis de datos tiene múltiples facetas y enfoques, que abarca diversas técnicas en una variedad de nombres, en diferentes negocios, la Ciencia, y los dominios de las Ciencias Sociales. Los datos se clasifican y analizan para indagar en cuestiones, evidenciar conjeturas o probar la invalidez de teorías. El propósito de analizar e interpretar datos es obtener información utilizable y útil.  

El alumno trabajará en Metodología Científica, mediante el aprendizaje de manejo de las diferentes bases de datos y la realización de una búsqueda bibliográfica estructurada se aprenderá de forma correcta la obtención de información, síntesis y divulgación de la misma, mediante las diferentes plataformas existentes (escritas, digitales, etc.).

Partiendo de temas teórico-prácticos, se analizará un nuevo y cambiante entorno digital, cada vez más incorporado en la realidad de la sanidad. Una realidad que requiere de ciertos conocimientos y herramientas para poder gestionar la amplia variedad de información, o lo que es lo mismo, aprender qué metodologías son más eficientes y permiten actuar eficientemente en redes sociales, entornos digitales, búsquedas bibliográficas o cualquier otra exigencia. 

Además, se pretende dotar al estudiantado de investigación enfermera de las herramientas necesarias para comprender el funcionamiento de la estadística básica y cómo debe aplicarse para la obtención de datos con valor descriptivo, analítico y predictivo. Para ello, se profundizará en los conceptos de estadística descriptiva, analítica e inferencial. 

Como colofón, se pretende formar al estudiantado en las técnicas de estadística básica, que le permitirán realizar un correcto desarrollo metodológico para la realización de proyectos propios, teniendo en cuenta los diferentes errores existentes (aleatorio y simple) y las interferencias que pueden afectar a la calidad de la investigación, así como saber cómo adaptarlos y minimizar su impacto en el escenario clínico que se quiera estudiar.
