  • Participate in performing liver biopsies
  • Diagnose liver issues using imaging techniques like ultrasound, CT, and MRI
  • Perform basic and advanced endoscopy in liver pathology
  • Assess liver fibrosis using non-invasive methods
  • Use PCR techniques and microarrays in diagnosing and monitoring liver diseases
  • Apply immunocytochemistry procedures for diagnosing liver diseases

Diagnostic procedures, management, and treatment of viral Hepatitis

  • Follow the most updated clinical protocols in the approach to viral Hepatitis
  • Diagnose, through liver biopsy, the activity level of fibrosis in Hepatitis
  • Perform specific approaches to Hepatitis in special populations: pregnancy, cirrhosis patients, or liver transplant recipients
  • Manage co-infection of HCV-HIV after Hepatitis

Cirrhosis Hepatica approaches

  • Recognize clinical manifestations of Cirrhosis using prognostic models
  • Assess the progression of Cirrhosis Hepatica through laboratory blood tests, looking for signs of liver (bilirubin excess) and kidney (creatinine levels) dysfunction
  • Perform elastography using MR elastography to detect liver hardening
  • Indicate the use of recommended and dangerous medications in Cirrhosis Hepatica
  • Diagnose and treat portal hypertension, Ascites, and Hepatorenal Syndrome
  • Treat esophageal bleeding caused by varices

Liver transplant techniques and approach to hepatocellular carcinoma and other tumors

  • Diagnose Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Liver Metastasis, and Cholangiocarcinoma through blood tests, imaging tests (MRI and CT), and liver biopsy
  • Apply radiofrequency ablation, cryoablation, and microwave ablation techniques for Hepatocellular Carcinoma
  • Manage neoplastic complications of the hepatopancreaticobiliary area using endoscopic techniques
  • Participate in liver transplant surgery interventions and assess the patient’s condition afterward, addressing immediate and intermediate complications from the surgery
  • Perform endoscopic treatment of biliary complications in liver transplantation
