La Gestión de las Obras es una de las partes fundamentales que tiene que llevar a cabo el profesional de la ingeniería civil, ya que las fases previas a la construcción, como la contratación y la planificación de la misma, así como los procesos de seguridad y salud hacia los trabajadores, o el cierre y liquidación de la obra son aspectos que tienen que quedar claramente definidos para que no haya errores en la programación y el desarrollo de la obra.
