Dr. Maria Carmen Desco Esteban is a specialist in Ophthalmology with a great ability for research and scientific study, whose efforts have been focused on conducting clinical trials to understand and treat retinal diseases. 

The diagnosis and development of new treatments in diabetic retinopathy and Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) are her specialty, making her an excellent researcher in this field. At the same time that she developed her scientific and informative work, Desco Esteban promoted her career as a teacher at the university level, where she transferred her extensive knowledge in the area of Ophthalmology to her students.
