Dr. Ana María Castaño-León is a distinguished professional in the field of Neurosurgery for the special interest she has given to acute brain disease including cranioencephalic trauma and subarachnoid hemorrhage. He has worked for years in the knowledge of Neurotraumatology, cerebrovascular disease and cerebrospinal fluid pathology, managing patients at the 12 de Octubre University Hospital.

To occupy the position of Assistant Physician he developed a unique academic career, and in whose university training he was endowed with numerous scholarships for his excellent record. This period culminated with the presentation of his doctoral thesis in Medical and Surgical Sciences entitled Prognostic tools in patients with cranioencephalic trauma, for which he obtained the qualification of Outstanding Cum Laude and the Extraordinary Prize of that year.
