Manuel Sánchez-Cascado: "This agreement with the NBA will allow us to create unique university programs"

The CEO and founder of the TECH educational group, owner of TECH Technological University, discusses the agreement that has made them the Official Online University of the NBA in Latin America.

The TECH Group recently announced the groundbreaking agreement it has reached with the NBA, which has made TECH Technological University the Official Online University of the NBA in Latin America, a milestone in the relationship between online education and the sports industry, where professionalization has grown exponentially in recent years.

"This partnership with the world's largest basketball league will allow us to offer academic programs that showcase the different aspects of the sports industry," explains Manuel Sánchez-Cascado de Fuentes, CEO and founder of the TECH Group, an international, Spanish capital company that owns TECH Technological University, the world's largest online university.

"This agreement will allow us to create unique university programs focused on the sports industry, a sector that requires specialized professionals who are up to date with the latest technology", Manuel Sánchez-Cascado adds, pointing out that the objective is "to offer flexible university education that adapts to the new needs of an increasingly digitalized world"

Sports industry professionals

The agreement reached between TECH and the NBA will allow them to develop a comprehensive and professionalized catalog in several areas of the sports industry, with a wide variety of educational resources and online university programs focused on its most diverse fields: nutrition, training, as well as the professional management of the business area generated by the sports industry. They will be uniquely designed programs and will feature guest speakers, such as NBA players or executives from the world's largest basketball league.

"University education faces the challenge of preparing students in a highly uncertain environment, in which the offer tends more and more towards personalization and specialization, and is adapted to the digital society of today", states Sánchez-Cascado. "The demand is there, and, thanks to this partnership, we can offer unique expertise to allow our students specialize in the sports industry at the highest level", adds the TECH Group's CEO.

Online methodology

TECH Technological University programs are taken completely online, allowing students to access the contents of the program at any time and from any device, which means that they can manage their study time flexibly and adapt it to their schedule.

Students are taught using the university's own methodology, Re-Learning, which is a learning system based on guided repetition and supported by state-of-the-art technology. A methodology that is complemented by the Harvard 'Case Method', thanks to the strategic agreement reached by the university, which allows it to offer its students the 'business cases' from this prestigious American institution. A learning method based on real experiences that helps students learn concepts and avoids systematic memorization.

TECH Technological University, the world's largest online university, belongs to the TECH educational group, a Spanish capital multinational company that was recognized by the Financial Times as one of the 200 fastest-growing companies in Europe. The company, founded and managed by Manuel Sánchez-Cascado de Fuentes, has also been considered the most highly valued Spanish technology company of the last 15 years.

Forbes called it "the best online university in the world", with a fully online learning system that allows students from all over the world to enroll. An international trajectory that has allowed it to become a benchmark in distance learning, with a catalog of more than 10,000 programs, more than 100,000 active students and 500,000 graduates from more than 150 countries.

Specialized in high-level postgraduate programs, they offer their students the world's largest selection of educational programs (more than 10,000), and they are also leaders in employability, with 97% of their students finding work within the first twelve months after completing their studies, according to data from the consulting firm KPMG.
